The Guest Speaker for the meeting was Susan Bowslaugh. Her lecture was titled "From Traditional to Modern". She talked about her transition from a traditional quilter to a modern quilter. She explained what members of the quilting world were most likely to be "Modern Quilters" and the characteristics of a "Modern Quilt". It was an interesting and informative talk.
The meeting ended with "Show and Tell" and the drawing of tickets for fat quarters, the gift basket and a special prize of a fat quarter bundle donated by our speaker, Susan Bowslaugh.

On Friday, Oct 10th a small but enthusiastic group of members met with Susan Bowslaugh for her workshop-"Crosses Quilt"-which included improv piecing, wonkiness and the use of alternate grid. The workshop challenged the participants to get outside their own particular style and give the Modern Quilt Style a try.
Hope to see you at the Quilt Show!
