East London Library Quilt Show

Just got back from the East London Library Quilt Show, and I had a great time! I was in a bit of bad spirits when I arrived, such a gray day, and miserable traffic, but soon, being surrounded by so much inspiration and comraderie, I remember why I joined a friendship guild! Leonor, from the library, was great; we were set up in a nice size room with natural light. It would have been better if we could utilize the wall space a bit more, but Cynthia brought some stocking hangers and we were able to hang a few wallhangings up over the cupboards.

9 Ladies participated, including myself, Cynthia M-R, Beth M, Beth M, Bev J, Irene, Jill B, Liz, and Christine and we brought lots of stuff! We proudly handed out flyers for the Harvest of Quilts 2008 Show and gave out our blog address and encouraged those interested to come down and check out one of our meetings. We also handed out flyers for the East African Quilt Show.

Many thanks to Leonor at the East London Public Library and to all the ladies that donated their time and shared their work, and of course to those who visited, we thank you too and hope to see you at Harvest of Quilts 2008!

Quilters on Vacation: Olmstead Falls, OH

Another quilter on vacation...
This quilt store was in an old house in a historic shopping area of Olmstead Falls, OHIO, just west of Cleveland. The store was made up of several rooms of fabric--each room had a different theme. The second picture was taken in the batik room. They had several BOM projects underway that could be picked up in the store or ordered from their website. I was in search of some fabric for the backing of a quilt top that I just finished and I found just what I wanted. If you are ever near Cleaveland, this store is worth a side trip.
